Set Construction Begins!

The crew jumped right in to doing some set construction last week. They built platforming upstage for the king's palace and painted furniture.

Here you see Ian and Matt doing some old-fashioned carpentry.

Niklas attaches legs to the upstage platforming.

Chris paints over the black & white platforms we used when he played Troy in "High School Musical"! Yes, we recycle!

William paints the "Death Bed" for the king. (Ooops, spoiler alert!)

Matt took a day off from Mr. Lowell's Video Production class to help paint the palace furniture.

Ashley, our Make-Up Designer, cleans out the make-up supply cabinet to get ready for the show.

We Need Help Finding Props

Do you have any large potted palms or rubber plants that we can use for the play? Live plants or fake. They can be returned. (But we prefer fake plants that you don't want back). We also need LARGE oriental vases. Please e-mail Mr. Lowell.

A Starting Point

The stage is now bare, but soon the floor will get painted to look like the palace of the King of Siam, and the pit cover will come off for the 21 piece orchestra. That's right, 21 student and adult musicians!

Thursday the lighting crew put some old spotlights into storage to clean up for the big musical.
